How we choose
How we rank venues
When a guide lists or compares venues, this is how we decide which ones go in and in what order.
Which venues go in a guide
A guide covers venues listed on Guestlist Ticket that fit the question it answers: for example, which clubs let guests in free before a certain time. Being a partner does not buy a place in a guide, a better position or a kinder write-up.
How we order them
We put venues in the order that helps the reader, such as by area, by opening time or by how closely they fit the question. If a guide actually ranks venues, it states the criteria at the top. We never order a list by who pays us.
What we look at
- Guest list access: whether there is one, how it works and when it closes.
- The cost of getting in, and whether there are free-entry conditions.
- Dress code, minimum age and the ID you need to bring.
- Opening hours and what is on during the week.
- How easy it is to get there, and what the space and crowd are like when we have visited.
First-hand visits
A review says the date we visited and includes our own photos. A guide that is not based on a visit does not claim to be: it is built from the venue’s published details and says so.
Something looks wrong?
If you are a venue and a detail is out of date, update it on your venue page or contact us and we will fix it. For how guides are written and reviewed, read our editorial policy.
